About Aegina

Due to its proximity to Athens, Aegina gets very busy in summer as a holiday or weekend destination. The capital town has a lovely port where yachts and fishing boats moor, creating a cosmopolitan environment. The most developed tourist resorts of the island, apart from Aegina Town, are Souvala and Agia Marina, two beautiful organized beaches surrounded by hotels and traditional taverns.

The inland has many mountainous villages and beautiful sights to discover, including the monastery of Agios Nektarios, the ancient temple of Athena Aphaia and the Hellenic Wildlife Hospital. Within a 15 minutes ferry ride from Aegina, you can also discover Agistri, a tiny island with green environment and amazing calm beaches.
